Bom Bom Island Resort is a unique African hideaway, located just off the northern coast of Principe, a volcanic island in the Gulf of Guinea. Surrounded by rainforest and isolated beaches, this small resort was recently recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve.
Bom Bom Island Resort offers 19 bungalows (beach, garden, sea and pool view) decorated with simple local furniture and spacious verandas. Guests can spend time on the open-deck poolside bar, relax in the swimming pool or have a swim in the ocean. The restaurant that is reached by crossing a wooden walkway, offers exotic and local cuisine made with fresh ingredients.
Special meditation and yoga package are available and guests can organize deep-sea fishing or snorkelling excursions. Turtles nesting, dolphins, Humpbacks whales and different native birds can be seen in the island. From the resort is possible to organize day tours to discover Principe Island, guided hiking trips through the forest, visit to the old ruins or plantations (cocoa, coffee and vanilla).
To preserve the incredible biodiversity and nature of the Island of Príncipe and to increase awareness, was created a non-profit organization, The Príncipe Trust, promoting ecotourism and community projects.
