Gaia Retreat & Spa is a unique Eco-friendly boutique experience just 15 minutes from Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. It was founded in 2005 by Olivia Newton-John, Gregg Cave, Ruth Kalnin and Warwick Evans.
The Retreat is in a green valley with undulating hills. Above all, it is perfect for a holiday far from the chaos of modern life.
The 19 boutique accommodations of the property (Layana Rooms, Sura Terraces and Acala Suites) have elegant furnitures. They have lush sub-tropical gardens, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere. In addition, some of them have a large outdoor deck or a private courtyard. Furthermore, the Komala Villas are one-bedroom space with indoor/outdoor living areas, private deck and saltwater heated pool. They are on one of the highest points of the estate.
Gaia Retreat has a reception lounge area, Kukura House, with high ceilings, wood elements and colourful fabrics. For example, here guests can relax reading books or magazines available. In addition, they can find the small shop with souvenirs and beauty products.
What to do
The complex offers a heated outdoor salt water pool, a sauna, all surrounded by beautiful fragrant gardens. Secondary, guests can enjoy the Day Spa and try different treatments and massages. Moreover, is available the Viha Fitness Centre, with diverse range of equipment. In addition, the wellness team organises daily yoga or pilates sessions, boxing and Tai Chi courses. The Naturopathic team can help with individual treatment for different health needs.
Experience
The Kukura House is the elegant restaurant inside the Retreat, offering creative flavours with a wellness approach. In fact, all the dishes have fresh products from local organic suppliers and from Gaia’s own Organic garden.
Gaia Retreat is a perfect venue for weddings, private or corporate events. For example, guests can use the sub-tropical gardens, the restaurant area or the Villas.
