Marcels Creative Exchange is a boutique hotel located in the centre of Amsterdam, Netherlands, in an original townhouse from the 1800s. The B&B is in the Grachtengordel district, one of the historical parts of the city, with elegant buildings, restaurants and antiques shops.
The owner, Marcel van Woerkom, a renowned Dutch painter and graphic designer, in the late sixties started the restoration of his guesthouse. As a result, he made a friendly “home” for visitors, artists and tourists from all over the world. In addition, at the back of the property, guests can find an art-house cinema, De Uitkijk, which opened in 1914 and is still showing movies today and they can see movies for free.
Marcels Creative Exchange offers 3 modern rooms (Style Room, Patio Garden Suite and Balcony Barcelona Apartment) with original art objects, Victorian style decorations, design furniture and artworks by the owner hanging on the walls. The Patio Garden Suite has a private patio; the Style room has a fireplace and the Barcelona Apartment has in addition a kitchenette. For breakfast and dinner guests can discover the cafes and restaurants in Leidseplein Square, closed to the hotel.
