Cast away islands: the Mamanuca

Famous for their coral reefs and white sand beaches, the Mamanuca Islands are a volcanic archipelago in the Republic of Fiji, Melanesia.

20 tropical islands in the heart of the South Pacific Ocean that are easily accessible by catamaran, yacht and seaplane. For instance, they are on the West side of Nadi, one of the largest villages in the main island Viti Levu.

Mamanuca Islands are stunning palm islands with some of Fiji’s most exclusive resorts. Here guests can stay in hotels with charming rooms, in front of the beach and enjoy spa treatments.

This coral paradise offers a range of water sports like surfing and windsurfing or golf courses. Moreover, it is possible to rent sailing yachts to discover the tropical island and swim around.  The Mamanuca Islands have great scuba diving sites like Big W and Gotham City. In these areas travellers can swim with reef sharks and dolphins. Moreover, one of the islands, Monuriki, was the set for the movie Cast away, thanks to its picturesque lagoons.

Moreover, to learn about the local life, visitors can join a local guided tour in one of the villages and meet the friendly locals. The visit includes the local school and small craft markets.
