A hidden gem: Memmo Alfama hotel

Memmo Alfama is a hidden treasure in Alfama, one of the most historical districts of Lisbon, (Portugal). In fact, this neighbourhood has narrow cobbled streets, colourful houses and fashionable artisan shops. Above all, it is the authentic and traditional image of the Lisbon. The famous yellow tram 28 is nearby and it is the perfect way to see Lisbon’s attractions. For instance, it is the perfect getaway for a quiet break to discover picturesque Lisbon.

Memmo Alfama, adult-only hotel, has an authentic and contemporary style. It is in a late nineteenth century building with an ancient courtyard. Therefore, the restoration maintained the original facades and the harmony with the traditional houses. Moreover, one of the exterior walls has original murals from the renowned Portuguese street artist Alexandre Farto (aka Vhils).

The 42 rooms overlooking the river Tagus, have wooden floors and modern design wooden furniture. The Terrace rooms have access to a common space with a small wooden deck.

On the ground floor guests can borrow a book from the library or enjoy authentic Portuguese food and wine. The terrace bar and (red) pool offer panoramic views of the city.
