The Sydney vibe: Paddington Markets

Paddington Markets take place since 1973, every Saturday from 10am to 4pm and bi monthly with special events, in the Paddington district of Sydney, Australia.

Paddington is trendy area of Sydney, full of boutiques, art galleries and cafes. This district is well known for its Victorian style terrace houses, narrow backstreets. In fact, it is a combination of past and modernity.

The markets are part of a no-profit organisation and started as an exposition to support local designers, artists and artisans. After years, this event is an institution for the locals. Now there are more then 150 unique stands expose Australian fashion, accessories, jewellery and crafted products.

Above all, local producers offer a range of produces (fresh bread, chocolate, wine, honey, oils and spices) or Asiatic, Thai and Japanese cuisine. For instance, it is a great opportunity for locals and travellers to buy from organic producers.

Most importantly, visitors that buy from Paddington Markets contribute to support homeless and disadvantaged people, providing a warm meal. This is possible with the collaboration with the Eddie Dixon Centre.

The market is a perfect place to go shopping, spending time with friends, have a coffee or for listening live music.
