The serene Pousada Picinguaba

A charming Portuguese colonial house, Pousada Picinguaba is in the village of Picinguaba, between Rio and São Paulo in Brazil. It is in a peaceful bay in the heart of the Natural Park of Serra do Mar. Moreover, it has amazing nature and sea.

The house has furniture from the 40s and 50s, sculptures and paintings from Brazilian artists. For instance, all the pieces were selected and collected by the owner Emmanuel and his wife Filipa.

Pousada Picinguaba offers 9 comfortable rooms (classic and suites) with private balconies. All are with local furniture and art pieces. Moreover, the honeymoon Suite, with a great view of the ocean, has a private Jacuzzi and furniture by local designers. The Villa Casa Verde has a private dining area, two rooms, a suite with balcony and a large terrace. In fact, this accommodation is ideal for families.

The complex is a magical hideaway for a tranquil and authentic holiday. Furthermore, guests can forget about television, phones and Internet and be more in contact with nature.

The restaurant proposes dishes with fresh and organic products and ingredients produced locally. Breakfast, lunch or dinner is in the restaurant or by the deck.

What to do

Nearby Picinguaba there are untouched beaches, tropical rainforest, waterfalls and small islands. The hotel organises excursions or private tours to discover the region. Guests can also enjoy outdoor activities like hiking in the tropical rainforest. Moreover it is possible to scuba dive, snorkelling or surfing.

By request, guests can participate to Yoga and meditation classes. They can also use the wood-fired sauna or enjoy body treatments with natural Brazilian products.
