Located in the heart of Sardinia, Italy, near the Su Gologone springs, Hotel Su Gologone is in the countryside surrounded by ancient olive trees, vineyards, rosemary and myrtle.
A quite and romantic place just 20 minutes drive from the Cala Cartoe beach, the hotel is an expression of Sardinia history, art, culture and traditions. Every detail of the house is a representation of the Sardinia style, with original furnishing, juniper wood decors, ceramics, terracotta and numerous art pieces and sculptures made by local artists.
The 67 rooms and suites, all with white walls, are decorated with brightly colored elements, artisan works, local fabrics (orbace and local wool) and traditional furniture carved by local cabinet-makers. For lunch and dinner guests can experience authentic flavors like local sheep’s cheeses, fire-roasted meats, crunchy flat-bread, olive oil and handmade pasta at the Bar Gazebo, an area near the pool with colorful pillows, sun chairs and tables. Bar del Tablao is perfect for an aperitif with a warm antipasto or for a drink after dinner with a selection of grappa and liqueurs made from local herbs and berries.
The hotel offers different food experiences starting from the nido del pane a bakery open space where local homemakers dressed in traditional dresses prepare daily various types of bread, including pane carasau (a crunchy flat-bread). At the wine cellar, decorated with terracotta floors, cork stools and utensils from the last century, guests can enjoy tasting sessions of olive oils, wines and cheese. It is also possible to book pasta workshops to learn how to make 12 types of hand made pasta.
Hotel Su Gologone has diverse external areas to relax, take sun or read a book. The dreams’ terrace is decorated with violet furnishings and offers an amazing view of the Mount Corrasi. The botanical garden has aromatic herbs, olive trees and flowers and the Tex Willer garden is a space dedicated to Aurelio Galleppini, the Sardinian creator of the comics Tex Willer, decorated with painted blue and red horses on the walls, cactus and vibrant elements. And the swimming pool, a 25 meters long pool with water coming from the Su Gologone spring and with two Jacuzzi.
